Getting your pet's records when a clinic registered them

Use the code from your vet, or send the clinic a request and they check it's you.

If you took your pet to a clinic before you had an account, the vet may have registered your pet for you. Those records can move onto your account.

With a code from your vet

Your vet can give you an eight-character code, often printed on the prescription. Enter it when you sign up, or, if you already have an account, under Got a code from your vet on Your pets. If the phone number on your account matches the one the clinic has, the records move across straight away. Otherwise the clinic checks it's you first, which usually takes a day.

Without a code

If the phone number or email you signed up with matches what a clinic wrote down, Your pets says that clinic may have your pet's records. Tap Send request, and the clinic checks it's you before anything moves. Until then we don't say which pets: phone numbers get reused, and a match alone is not proof.
